Gmail Outage for a long time on 13th may 2012 at around 1pm Indian Standard Time

I have been using gmail for a long time now around 8 to 10 years i guess.
But i haven't seen the service down for such a long time between 10 to 12 minutes.
I am from Goa and use gmail on a regular basis but this seems be the longest time that i have seen it not working.
Maybe this is the one of the many times that gmail has been down and this is the first time that i have managed to see it down for quiet a duration.

I get the below page result when i go to http://gmail.com

I love their doodles and this page image with the robot all broken down into pieces is just another cool image.

Update at 7:30 pm May 13th 2013 :-

Just checked google news and according to Time of India( TOI ) the gmail outage was from 1:50pm to 2:25 pm. Around 0.75% of users mostly from India, Middle East and South East Asia. Google apologized for the service issue and promised to work on it to minimize the outages.
There have been outages on may 2nd and may 8th also that like almost every week for the past three weeks now. There were lots of messages or talks about the outage on social media about the regular service issue in recent times.

Hopefully Google can sort the issues and provide uninterrupted service to its users as well as me :D

Did you experience gmail down today???

Jackfruit in my backyard - Its a Rasaal

There are basically two varieties of jackfruit that i know of in goa.
One is the pulpy "Rasaal", and the other firmer and crispier "Kaapo".
The below pictures is of a Rasaal variety which has soft pieces of jackfruit compared to the other variety.

I love he kaapo more than the rasaal for the obvious reason that it is crispier, tastier and the easier one to eat.

Below is the picture of a JackFruit that grew up in my backyard garden.

Basic information about Jackfruit and the tree:

Jackfruit tree is a huge tree that grows as high as 30 meters. During the season they have around 250 or so fruits per tree. The fruits outerside is covered with the blunt thorns, which become soft as the fruit ripens. Its interior consists of orange-yellow colored edible bulbs. Each bulb consists of sweet-flavored sheaths that enclose a smooth, oval, light-brown color seed. Jackfruit is rich in energy, dietary fiber, minerals, and vitamins it is also high in calories. It contains no saturated fats or cholesterol, making it a healthy fruit.

Jackfruit Seed

Below is a picture of a jackfruits seed of a rasaal that grow in my backyard.
I love to eat the seeds of the jackfruit.

Simply boil the seeds in hot water for 20 to 25 minutes and then pill and eat the seeds.
Tastes Awesome!!

More Information about the jackfruit seeed:

Jackfruit seeds are 2 to 4 cm long and 1 to 3 cm thick and are white and crisp within. There can be as many as 100 to 500 edible bulbs inside in a single fruit.

Jackfruit seeds are very rich in protein and nutritious. In general, the seeds are gathered from the ripe fruit, sun-dried and stored for use in rainy season in many parts of South Indian states. Different variety of recipes prepared in Southern India where they are eaten either by roasting as a snack or added to curries in place of lentils.

A recipe for Jackfruit seeds:-

Add the jackfruit seeds to a pot. Pour enough water to cover jackfruit seeds with an inch of water above the seeds. Bring the water and seeds to a boil. Lower the heat and cover the pot. Let the seeds boil for 25-30 minutes or until soft.
