I think Rooney has come a long way from being an angry aggressive footballer to a calm and composed football player. He has changed over the years to control his aggression on the field and now Sir. Alex Ferguson does not have to worry about Rooney getting sent off.
He has matured enough to be a player onto whom younger players can look upon and follow.
He was looked upon as he had the hunger to get to every ball that was played to him. He made the opposition nervous by chasing the opponent players rigorously and constantly so as to get the ball back. His constant running would make the other team members put in extra effort and play as a team to get the possession of the ball and keep it as long as it was possible.
