I think Rooney has come a long way from being an angry aggressive footballer to a calm and composed football player. He has changed over the years to control his aggression on the field and now Sir. Alex Ferguson does not have to worry about Rooney getting sent off.
He has matured enough to be a player onto whom younger players can look upon and follow.
He was looked upon as he had the hunger to get to every ball that was played to him. He made the opposition nervous by chasing the opponent players rigorously and constantly so as to get the ball back. His constant running would make the other team members put in extra effort and play as a team to get the possession of the ball and keep it as long as it was possible.
He has lost the hunger that he showed when he was a youngster at Everton and early years at Manchester United. He was one of the players who was a obvious choice for the starting lineup, as he would fire up his teammates when he played.
He has been below par for almost two to three seasons now with fitness and injury issues. He has been scoring for Manchester United for every season with his tally always in double figures for each season. But he needs to play more consistently if he is to be a obvious starting player for Manchester united.
Last season he was the number one striker at Manchester United , but with the signing of Robin Van Persie he is no longer the number one striker. looks like he is number three striker behind Van Persie and Danny Welbeck. He is preferred more behind the striker or on the wings. But it looks more like he is going to play central midfield more often now as Manchester United lack world class central midfielders. Michael Carrick is the only central midfielder who is good enough right now.
So will Wayne Rooney improve at the end of this season or will he fade away and go for a big money move to another club next season?? Only Rooney can work hard and win his place in the starting eleven. Only he can make or break his future at Manchester United!!!!!
