Barclays English Premier League has started finally on 17th August. I was so excited and happy that finally the wait is over. As i stay in India i have been getting ads that we will be getting the commentary in our language ie Hindi. It looks like the matches will be only on the Star network instead of ESPN and Star Sports. I was angry and frustrated to hear that hindi commentary will be there as i hate to listen to hindi commentary. I have heard hindi commentary for cricket matches and i always change to english commentary as quickly as i realize its hindi commentary.
And another big jolt that i got was that they did not telecast the first match of the League Liverpool versus Stoke.
So i could not see the match as they were showing the same old preview show in Hindi for the noob or new Indian Hindi talking people who they want to attract with Hindi.
They showed the preview of how Manchester City bought big player after the new owner bought the club, how Arsenal were invincible and now they cant win anything, etc, etc.
And it is not like they show everything in an hour show , they show each top team for one hour. That is more frustrating as i know all that stuff.
I want to know the latest as they used to show before when there was score-cast and preview talk before kickoff and highlights of all matches in one hour rather than showing one match highlights for an whole hour.
Repeating the same thing over and over.
As i stay in India and in a state called Goa(Have you heard about Goa?? If not check Must see places in Goa.) i dont have a good internet connection. I hardly get 512Kbps speed, Thats right in Kbps and Not Mbps. I am still using BSNL broadband as its the cheapest with an Unlimited Plan for less that 1k a month.
So i could not watch the match online as there was buffering all the time and it wasnt worth sitting on my pc trying to stream the live match.
Got bored watching the hanging streaming every 10 seconds.
So closed the browser and waited to see if the next match Arsenal versus Aston Villa will be telecasted on the Star network.
And to my delight the Arsenal vs Aston Villa game was telecasted on Star Sports. It was an awesome game with both teams playing end to end stuff.
It was the type of game which makes the Premier League the best league in the world. Excitement, flying tackles, high temper, controversial decisions, sending off, penalty saves all of it.
Seeing this match i forgot about the missed first game and moreover as Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger will have to make some signings before the end of the transfer window.
Their team is really thin as they let go of 17 player in the transfer window and havent made any good signing forget about world class players. They made a big fuzz saying they got 70 million to spend and till now they havent spend a pound to sign players. The only player they bought was for free and a player who will not go straight into the team as he not a better player than the first team players. Its like you still had a PlayStation Portable or PSP (please buy a better one!!!) whereas you should have had a Playstation 3 long time ago but you sell the PSP and buy the Playstation 3 instead of the latest Playstation 4.
Then the last match that was telecasted was Swansea Vs Manchester United where it was David Moyes first Premier League game as the manager of Manchester United. Swansea gave a good fight but Manchester United were too good with Robin Van Persie and Danny Welbeck getting a brace each. Swansea's new record signing Wilfreid Bony scored on debut and they look like a good team and should finish in the top half of the table if not in the top 6. Robin Van Persie scored a wonderful bicycle type goal which i would be proud off if i could replicate something like that when i am playing Fifa 13 on my PC. Not easy to play on the PC but i think its easier to do trick and score screamers on Playstation or Xbox or Nitendo Wii.
Waiting for Fifa 14 to realeased in September, hopefully it will work on my Intel Dual Core processor powered computer.
Chelsea won against a poor Hull City and Manchester City thrashed a hapless Newcastle United team.
Fulham won at Staduim of Lights versus Sunderland; West Ham beat the new comers Cardiff City; Southampton defeated West Brom; Tottenham just nicked it againts Crystal Palace and Norwich City drew with Everton.
Hopefully the Star network will show as many matches as it used to show and not cut matches as they did on the first day of the league.
