The EMA (MTV Europe Music Awards) took place at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome (Netherlands/Holland) and hosted by MC Redfoo of LMFAO. While Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis went at the EMA's as the most-nominated artists with five nominations each, Eminem, Miley Cyrus and Bruno Mars were amongst the winners sunday night’s 2013 EMA's.
Eminem topped the list with two wins, nabbing Best Hip Hop act and EMA Global Icon and securing his title as the artist with the most EMAs ever (15). The rapper performed the songs Berzerk and Rap God from his latest album The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
Other winners included Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, One Direction, Linkin Park, etc. The night saw performances from Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke, Iggy Azalea, The Killers, Kings of Leon and Icona Pop at the Ziggo Dome. The two other venues in the city included a collaboration between Afrojack/Snoop Dogg/7 Days of Funk and Imagine Dragons also played from the EMA rock stage at the Music Hall. Ron Burgundy of Anchorman 2 (Will Ferrell) made an appearance and backstage was hosted by Ariana Grande.
Presenters at the 2013 MTV EMA included RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad), Bridgit Mendler (singer-songwriter and actress), Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora, Dizzee Rascal, Ellie Goulding, Carice van Houten (Dutch singer/actress, Game of Thrones) and Colton Haynes (Teen Wolf). A record-breaking 292 million votes by fans all over the world helped in deciding the 2013 MTV EMA winners.
