Super Sunday in EPL Manchester United vs Liverpool and Arsenal vs Spurs

Its the third weekend since the Barclays Premier League started and we have had one big game Manchester United versus Chelsea which was disappointing. But this weekend it is a Super Duper Sunday as two high profile matches or we can say derbies are there. Liverpool face their bitter rivals Manchester United at Enfield Stadium where this tie is considered the El-Clasico of EPL. The other match of the day is the north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs.

Liverpool will try to keep their 100% record this season after they won both their opening games 1-0 with their in-form striker Daniel Sturrigde scoring both the goals. Sturridge has been superb since signing in January from Chelsea scoring a number of goals and filling the boots of Luis Suarez who is banned for 10 games after the biting Ivanovic on the pitch while playing against Chelsea last season.

Manchester United on the other hand have 4 points after demolishing Swansea on the opening day and drawing with Chelsea in the previous EPL game. Wayne Rooney started the previous game after he played as a substitute in the first game. Rooney was impressive and looked like he had put the transfers saga behind him in the game against Chelsea who had put in 2 bids for the player. Rooney might miss the game as he had a head collision in training where he got 10 stitches to the head. United still have to make a marque signing under new Manager David Moyes and as United very badly require a central midfielder to play along side Carrick. Tom Cleverly has been ok but United need to get a better player if they have to challenge for the league this season.

Arsenal as always haven't signed any player in the transfer window. They had said they have 70 million to spend but they have signed two players for free and they aren't world class players. They have lots of injuries in their squad and they have let got of many fringe players and so the squad looks small. They require some signings to be able to at least get their dream 4th place. But they don't look like a squad who could better the top 3 and also they are far behind Spurs who have spend in excess of 100 million in the transfer window alone.

Spurs have finally let Gareth Bale go to Real Madrid for a record 86 million pounds after a long saga in the transfer window. But unlike Arsenal they have spent heavily to replace Bale by signing some good players which will help them not only pip Arsenal for 4th place, but they might have a shot at the league title.
