So now that we have the groups Group G and Group D Competing for the title of the groupf of death.
Group D wins as there are three really strong teams Italy, England and Uruguay with Costa Rica just there to make up the group. Italy are former world cup winner when they won in 2006 in Germany. Italy also have been in the finals of the Euro 2012 when they lost to Spain. England are a strong European team as they have some young players coming to the world stage and only time will tell us if they grow into world class players or not. Uruguay are semifinalist from the last world cup and they have big names in their team like Luis Suarez and Edisan Cavani to name their top two players. Italy are my favorites to go through from this group with Uruguay and England fighting for the second spot.

Group G has Germany and Portugal the two powerhouses of European football. Ghana are a good African team with the USA completing a tight group. Germany have been doing well reaching the quaters and semi finals in the last few world cups. Portugal have Cristiano Ronaldo. Germany are the favorites to top the group with Portugal to come second since there is over reliance on Ronaldo to carry Portugal throughout the tournament.

Group A has the home team Brazil who are tipped by many to win the World Cup on home soil. Brazil should stroll through their group as they have a easy group. They might not win as they dont have the best players throughout their team. They have Neymar the wonder boy who did not create the magic he was supposed to at Barcelona. Crotia will be neck in neck with Brazil but they will surely be looking for second spot ahead of Cameroon and Mexico.  Mexico are lucky to reach the World Cup after having a dismal qualifying. Cameroon should be third in this group.

Group B has the current World Champions Spain and Netherlands. The first match will be a repeat of the 2010 world cup finals. Spain are the favorites to win the World Cup on merit and their previous record in big tournaments. they have a hatrick of big tournament win after they won Euro 2008 then the World Cup 2010 and the Euro 2012. We have to see if they can win the World Cup in a row. Spain should top the group with Netherlands second. Chile should oust Australia to third spot.

Group C has Columbia the favorites to top the group then its Ivory Coast who should come second. But we can never know if Greece can repeat the Euro 2004 run and come second. Japan should give some fight for second spot too.

Group E France should sail through quiet easily with Switzerland. Ecuador and Honduras should be third and fourth in the group. France have been poor lately with issue off the field for the past 5-6 years.

Group F has Argentina who should be top of the group with Bosnia coming second. Nigeria and Iran will fight for third spot in the group. Lionel Messi will hope to light up at the world cup stage as he has done at club level for Barcelona. Keep an eye on Sergio Aguero he will be my pick for the golden boot award if Argentina progress to the later stages of the world cup.

Group H sees Belguim and Russia fighting for top spot, with South Korea coming third and Algeria coming fourth. Belguim have huge number of star players and we have to see if they can collectively play to do well in the world cup. They are the Dark Horses to watch out for this world cup but with their top striker Christain Benteke out with an injury they might not be the same team people expected them to be. Edin Hazard and Vincent Kompany are the star players to look out for in their team.
