Liverpool produced a performance without their top scorer Luis Suarez to make a point that they can win and score goals 6 in this match. After Luis Suarez biting incident versus Chelsea Suarez was given a lengthy 10 match ban which meant Liverpool had to score without their top scorer.
And boy did they not only score at Newcastle but they had a goal feast to defeat Newcastle at home with 6 goals, Newcastle's highest defeat since 1925.
We all doubted Brendan Rodgers that he could succeed with his tika tak play at a big club like Liverpool. But he is showing he can make Liverpool a team that can challenge for the title next season if they can sign Coutinho from Inter after what looks like a successful loan spell and some other players who can play the style Rodgers wants to imprint on Liverpool team.
Coutinho was the main man to start or assist in the Liverpool goals. He finds space with his deft touches, quick feet and dribble skills and he can find passes and score goals. He has been a good loan signing for Liverpool as he has managed to form a partnership with Suarez and now with Sturridge. Sturridge has been that spark that was needed with suarez now banned for 10 matches. He has shown what a terrific player he can be with his recent performances at Liverpool which he could not produce at Chelsea as he wasn't given much time on the pitch.
