Manchester United And Robin Van Persie Dampen Arsenal's Champions League chances

After wining the English Premier League last week at Aston Villa courtesy of a Robin Van Persie hatrick Arsenal had a good chance to get all three points against Manchester United to get their Champions League pursuit on track.
With pictures of almost all the Manchester United player parting up till early morning after their win on Monday night their would have been a hangover of winning the league and it was visible in the first half against Arsenal.

Evra was just asleep when Rosicky put a ball through for Theo Walcott, Walcott was slightly offside but the assistant said play on and Walcott put the ball in the goal past David deGea.

Arsenal took control of the game and Manchester United were really poor for most of the first half, but Arsenal could not increase their lead and late on a mistake from Sagna resulting in a penalty when he brought down Van Persie in the penalty area. Robin Van Persie stepped up and converted the penalty to equalize but he did not celebrate against his former club out of respect even after there were boos and abuse thrown at him whenever he got a touch of the ball.

The equalizer was just before half time and i am sure Alex Ferguson had a hairdryer treatment for his players as Manchester United were much better and could have scored from quiet a few chances to win the match.
The game was a better contest in the second half with end to end stuff but neither team managing to nick the game. Arsenal were the more desperate team to win so that they can qualify for Champion League next season. They have qualified for it for 15 consecutive times and that too under Arsene Wenger and have to make it 16th consecutive time if they are to attract world class players next season.
